Kari Kaze

I’m Kari, a 26 year-old stone mason, artist, and world traveler from Germany. Two years ago, I quit my job, ended my lease, stored my belongings in a friend’s barn, and left home to explore the world on my bicycle.

When I travel, my sketchbook is never far from reach. I will often create little sketches that capture my immediate surroundings, allowing me to experience each moment a little more consciously. In my view, harmony is not the result of absolute perfection. Rather, harmony manifests from a conscious, interactive experience with each moment.

In addition to creating art, I am always curious and open to new experiences, even if they are unexpected. When I am faced with challenging moments, I try to keep a positive attitude and approach every situation as an opportunity to learn something new.

I believe that traveling and learning about the world can make us all more compassionate and understanding people. The opportunity to look a little further beyond my own nose and expand my creative horizon fills me with great satisfaction.

This book project reminds me how travelling can bring people together in unexpected ways. I am inspired by the idea of introducing children to the diversity of foreign cultures through the stories of Cohen and his fluffy companion Kleo. Together, I hope we can inspire kids to go on their own adventures and see all the beauty and wonder that the world has to offer.
